Essential Tips

The journey to Phu Quy Island isn’t too difficult, but to ensure a smooth trip, you should keep the following information in mind:
- The sea route from Phan Thiet port to Phu Quy is known for having strong waves and crosscurrents. Travelers can easily experience rocking and motion sickness, especially on days with rough seas. Although plastic bags will be provided on the boat, those with a history of seasickness should take medication, use anti-motion sickness patches, and prepare plastic bags just in case.
- The wind on the island is very strong, so women should dress neatly when on the boat and prepare separate outfits for photos once on the island.
- If you plan to camp overnight, ask your guesthouse host to arrange permits in advance to complete the residency procedures.
- The island permits foreign visitors, but the number is limited, so the licensing process can take quite a while.
