Getting to Ong Ket Mountain in An Giang
Ong Ket Mountain, also known as Anh Vu Son, stands at 225m and is located in Ket Mountain Hamlet, Thoi Son Commune, Tinh Bien District, An Giang Province. The path to the Ong Ket Mountain tourist area isn’t hard to find; just search for it on the map and follow the directions!
Nowadays, Ong Ket Mountain is a tourist attraction, so there’s an entrance fee before you go up. When I visited, the ticket price for Ket Mountain was 20,000 VND, but as of now (2023), the price has increased to 30,000 VND.
The trail up Ong Ket Mountain consists of stone steps, which are clean and wide, making them very easy to walk on. The mountain isn’t too high either, so I managed to reach the summit in about 30 minutes. Ong Ket Mountain is suitable for many people, even the elderly and young children can enjoy visiting and climbing to improve their health. If you get tired while climbing, you can sit and rest; there are stone benches every few tens of meters for pilgrims to take a break.

On Ong Ket Mountain, there are nearly 20 attractions and shrines, including: Dien Nam Non Bay Nui, Mother Quan Am Nam Hai, Dien Phat Vuong, Dien Chien Si Cach Mang, a cave temple with the remains of soldiers, San Tien, Gieng Tien, and more. At the summit of Ong Ket Mountain, you’ll find many smooth stones with carved poems, sayings from revered sages, and mysterious tales about the That Son region.

The Spiritual Story of Ong Ket Mountain Turning Its Head
In recent years, a rumor has emerged in the That Son An Giang region that Ong Ket Mountain is “turning its head” towards Cam Mountain. Previously, the “beak” of Ong Ket faced the road, but after several decades, Ong Ket’s “beak” is now shifting to one side and gradually pointing towards the summit of Cam Mountain (Thien Cam Son).
For the followers of Buu Son Ky Huong (a renowned religion in the Seven Mountains region, whose founder, Duc Phat Thay Tay An, once ascended Ket An Giang Mountain to practice his faith), they believe that Ong Ket’s turning head is seen as a pivotal moment, signaling transformations that will purify the bad elements in society today.
